What Landlords Charge for Abandoned Items in NC

Most leases in North Carolina include a clause allowing landlords to charge for disposal of items left after move-out. Common charges include per-piece furniture removal, full-room clearout fees, regulated mattress disposal, and cleaning surcharges if items blocked proper cleaning.

These charges come straight out of your security deposit. Most landlords document with photos before returning any portion.

You Don't Have to Be There the Whole Time

Many of our move-out customers drop a key at the office, give us the unit number, and check back in when we're done. We text you when we arrive, confirm what we're taking, and send a photo of the cleared unit when we finish. If there's a lock box or property manager who can let us in, that works too. You don't have to stand in an empty apartment watching us load furniture.
