What Counts as a Yard Cleanout vs. a Single-Item Pickup
If you have one item — a broken trampoline, a rusted grill, a dying swing set — that’s a single-item pickup. Fast to schedule, priced per item, and usually done in under an hour.
A yard cleanout is for the full picture: multiple items, shed overflow, years of accumulated stuff. The difference in scope changes the crew size, the truck count, and the pricing conversation. If you’re not sure which applies, call us and describe what you’ve got — we’ll tell you in two minutes.
How We Handle Gates, Fences, and Access Issues
Most back yards have a fence gate. Most fence gates are narrow. We’ve dealt with it. Tell us the access situation when you book — whether it’s a 36-inch gate, a locked side yard, or a shed accessible only through the house. We’ll plan the crew and equipment accordingly. We don’t show up and discover access problems; we ask before we arrive.
For large items that won’t fit through any gate (a full-size riding mower, a large chest freezer that ended up outside), we discuss options when you book. Most situations have a solution that doesn’t involve tearing down your fence.
What Happens to Outdoor Junk After We Pick It Up
Patio furniture and outdoor items in usable condition go to local donation partners before disposal — Habitat for Humanity ReStores are frequent recipients. Metal — grills, fire pits, scrap steel, old lawn equipment — goes to certified scrap recyclers. What can’t be donated or recycled goes to a licensed disposal facility.
Old refrigerators and freezers that ended up outside require proper refrigerant handling before disposal — we handle that as part of the haul.
Yard Cleanouts vs. Yard Waste Removal
These are different services. Yard waste removal is for organic material: grass clippings, leaves, brush, branches, and tree debris. If that’s your situation, see our yard waste removal page.
Yard cleanouts are for the accumulated non-organic junk that ends up outside: furniture, equipment, structures, shed contents, building materials. If you have a mix of both — half brush pile, half old equipment — call us. We’ll quote the full job and sort out the disposal routing on our end.
