We don’t haul boats — and we’d rather tell you straight
An old boat is heavier, longer, and more regulated than anything that belongs in a junk truck. Hulls need a trailer and a licensed hauler, and disposal runs through marine salvage or recycling — not a standard junk run. So Junk Doctors does not remove boats, watercraft, or jet skis. Here is the path that actually works.
Who removes a boat in the Triangle
- A licensed tow or heavy-haul company handles the move itself. Look for haulers that list “boat transport” or “equipment hauling.”
- A marine salvage or scrap yard is your disposal route. Aluminum hulls and trailers carry scrap value, and some yards will come pick them up.
- A boat-donation program is worth a call before you pay to scrap. National boat charities accept hulls in almost any condition, usually tow for free, and send a tax receipt.
- The North Carolina DMV handles the title. A titled vessel needs the title signed over or a sold/abandoned filing — start at NCDMV.
What we can clear while the boat is being handled
The boat itself is not ours to take, but the everyday junk around the project usually is:
- Garage, shed, or storage-area cleanouts where the boat was kept
- Old marine gear, life jackets, and household junk — but not fuel, oil, or batteries, which are hazardous
- Furniture, appliances, yard debris, and full-property cleanouts
If you have a load like that, we will give you a firm, upfront price and haul it the same day when you call before 3 PM.
